Talk about falling asleep at the wheel...
Australian cycling outfit Team BikeExchange has been booted out of the famous Giro D'Italia after inexplicably ramming their car into another cyclist.
Belgian rider Pieter Serry has knocked to the round after copping a bumper to his backside and was unable to remount his bike and complete the stage of the race.

"He is back on his bike, but that gave us a huge scare. "Hoping @Pieter_Serry is ok after that heart in the mouth moment which happened on the last climb of this #Giro stage."
Team BikeExchange eventually issued an apology, tweeting back: "Sorry guys, glad to see @Pieter_Serry is back on is bike! Hope he is all OK!"
The team came under heavy criticism from fans on social media, who absolutely slated their social media sorries.

One person tweeted: "'Sorry guys' Are you kidding me? A cutesy social media apology only given in response and not proactively the very minute it happened is shameful."
While another added: "Don't think 'Sorry Guys' on Twitter really cuts it as an apology. Perhaps drivers ought to drive and nothing else. Remembering every rider is a father, son, partner, teammate and friend."
It remains to be seen whether Australian cycling side Team BikeExchange will be docked points following the incident.
