Fiona, the mother of Collingwood debutant Trey Ruscoe, has brought an instant smile to the AFL community.

The supportive mum's raw and overwhelming emotions were captured in a viral video after she was told by her son that he'd be making his AFL debut in the Magpies' Thursday night clash against Sydney at the Gabba.

Video calling her to reveal the amazing news, 190-centimetre defender Ruscoe was first greeted with some motherly sass before Fiona finally realised that her son wasn't stitching her up.

"Oh f*** off, are you joking? I can't. Oh my god, Trey, that is unbelievable. Are you stirring me up?" she said.

"Trey, that is so good. I can't believe it! What, the whole team fall over or something, did they?"

Ruscoe's giggling teammates couldn't contain themselves in the background when they heard Fiona's brilliant reaction.

She signed off on an already-classic call by saying: "Make sure you go out there and do the colours proud, alright? Don't be a big wuss."

The hilarious clip flooded the internet after Collingwood shared it on their social media channels as fans around the world began showing the supportive mother the love she deserves.

It's become a bit of a trend for AFL youngsters to film themselves while telling their loved ones that they've been picked to make their debuts. But if it's any sort of competition, Fiona and Trey Ruscoe win by a landslide.
