From beautiful murals in the streets to the Lakers team donning 'Black Mamba' jerseys during the playoffs - it's clear Bryant won't be forgotten any time soon.

And the Los Angeles council are now doing their part to honour the 18-time NBA All Star.

According to LA Council member Herb J. Wesson Jnr, Figueroa Street will be unveiled as Kobe Bryant Boulevard between Olympic Boulevard and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard - right outside the famous Staples Center.

This news comes in the wake of Bryant's 42nd birthday on August 23.

On top of renaming streets, the city of Los Angeles and Orange County recently announced that August 24 will be known as Kobe Bryant Day across California.

Kobe's iconic number 8 and 24 Lakers jerseys have been hung from the Staples Center rafters since 2017 too.
