Come on mate, do your homework.

Basil Zempilas has had an absolute shocker and Aussie NBA fans aren't holding back.

Basketball fanatics from Down Under have gone to town on the 7News presenter after he butchered the names of two of the biggest NBA stars on the planet.

While wrapping up all the overnight action from the Walt Disney World bubble, the veteran anchor completely mispronounced the names of reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo and Portland Trail Blazers superstar Damian Lillard.

Talking about Giannis' recent headbutt, Zempilas said: "One of the NBA's biggest stars is in hot water on the eve of the playoffs, Giannis An-te-toka-toma-too was ejected for headbutting during the Bucks penultimate regular season game against the Wizards."

And he wasn't done there.

To top it off, the 7News presenter somehow managed to stuff up the pronunciation of Lillard's name too.

"Portland's Damian Lill-i-ard scored a remarkable 61 points to get the Blazers over the line," Zempilas said.

Unsurprisingly, disturbed fans flocked to social media following the on-air blunder.

ESPN basketball reporter Olgun Uluc tweeted: "This man really called him Giannis AN-te-TOKA-toma-TOO... and then made Dame a French man. Heaven help us."

While Fantasy Basketball analyst Josh Lloyd simply reshared the video, saying, "Embarrassing."

But it appears this isn't the first time Zempilas has made a pig's ear of athlete names.

In a thread on Twitter, one eagle-eyed fan posted an old clip of the TV host making a mess of Kyrie Irving's name as well as Aussie Matthew Dellavedova's.

You had one job. Also, who knew Kyrie was eligible for the Boomers?
