Ben Simmons' Perfect Response To NBA Announcer Who Called Him 'Overrated'

Ben Simmons is just as much of a savage off the court as he is on it.

And one NBA announcer has learned that the hard way.

NBC Sports broadcaster Justin Kutcher, who is on hand to call every single Washington Wizards game, has copped a serving from Simmons after he called the Aussie fan favourite "overrated".

"I've said it before and I know I'll take flak for it, but I think Ben Simmons is one of if not the most overrated players in the NBA," Kutcher said during the Wizards' clash against the Sixers.

"He's gotten so much love and attention that people aren't paying attention to what Tobias Harris is actually doing on the floor."

Simmons, clearly unamused by Kutcher's analysis, wasn't having a bar of it and hit back with something of his own.

After doing some digging on social media, Simmons took to Instagram to post an old picture of Kutcher wearing a bathrobe while holding a shaker full of pre-workout.

He simply captioned the picture: "Another casual."

The photograph itself is from way back in 2018, so Simmons had clearly gone deep into Kutcher's social media archives to find it.

But even after being publicly called out online, Kutcher doubled down on his claims after the game had wrapped up.

"Yep, I said that Ben Simmons is one of the most overrated players in the NBA, and I stand by it," he tweeted.

"I didn't say he was BAD, just not as good as everyone makes him out to be. GREAT defender, potential DPOY (Defensive Player Of Year), but I think he's made All League/All Star Teams based on hype. And.. goodnight."

But it seems Simmons wasn't the only one left raising his eyebrows after hearing the bizarre criticism come out of Kutcher's mouth.

Former NBA champion Kendrick Perkins went to town on the NBC Sports play caller, tweeting: "Did he just say that Ben Simmons is the most overrated player in the league? Shame on him. This gotta be the most disturbing thing I've heard all year. He do realise that Simmons is the front runner for DPOY?!"
