LeBron James was left fuming after a PA announcer at his son's high school basketball game made a comment about the four-time NBA champion.

LeBron was so upset that he ended up stopping the game in its tracks to confront the announcer.

The 36-year-old was in attendance to watch his 16-year-old son Bronny compete for St. Vincent-St. Mary's High School.

To give some context, Los Angeles Lakers megastar was actually a former student of the institute in Akron, Ohio and the school's gymnasium is now aptly named the 'LeBron James Arena'.

But while spectating the game, LeBron heard something from the announcer that he didn't appreciate.

While debate and confusion still remains about exactly what was said, some reports claim the announcer suggested Bronny got a foul call because he was playing in a gym steeped in his father's history.

Oh, and that gym happens to bear his dad's name too.

LeBron clearly took exception to this and immediately got up from his court-side chair and started yelling in the direction of the announcer's table.

The game was ultimately stopped as LeBron gave the person in question a stern dressing down in front of the other spectators, coaches and players.

He finally calmed down before eventually returning to his seat, only to witness Bronny's side crumble to a 73-69 defeat.

LeBron did, however, receive a round of applause from the other fans in the stands who clearly overheard what was said.

Well, you can't argue that he's not a competitor - even when he's not playing.
