Jorge Masvidal Stuffed A Takedown And Slipped Four Punches... While Laughing And Blowing Kisses

The defensive masterclass proves just how deadly UFC fan favourite Jorge Masvidal is on the feet.

There's no doubting that Jorge Masvidal has one of the slickest stand-up games in the UFC.

And despite losing to Kamaru Usman in their welterweight title bout on Fight Island, one magical sequence proved exactly why 'Street Jesus' is one of the most feared men on the feet inside the octagon.

Renowned for his heavy hands (and knees if you're Ben Askren for that matter), Masvidal showed how multi-dimensional his fight arsenal really is after one masterful display of defence.

With Kamaru "The Nigerian Nightmare" Usman piling on the pressure with his relentless style of wrestling, BMF Masvidal had to be on his toes from the get go.

And while Usman came out on top in the bout to successfully defend his belt, fight fans were supplied with a Floyd Mayweather-esque moment from Masvidal to sweeten the blow of defeat - well, it probably wasn't on Mayweather's defensive level but it was still pretty special regardless.

With Masvidal's back practically against the cage, Usman saw the moment as an opportunity to mount some further pressure.

Usman threw a quick left jab which was parried away by his opponent with ease.

Seeing that his shot failed to land on its desired target, welterweight champ Usman then shot for a single leg takedown but saw little success as Masvidal stuffed it.

But Masvidal's defensive masterclass didn't end there.

Just as the two were leaving the resulting clinch, title-challenger Masvidal quickly ducked out of the way of a swinging over-hand right from Usman - a shot that missed by a fraction of an inch.

Fan favourite Masvidal then bobbed and weaved his way past two wild elbows - a right and then a left - before initiating a clinch to catch his breath.

And to top it all off, "Gamebred" blew the UFC camera a kiss. Classic.

As Masvidal would say, "super necessary".
