Tim Elliott Accuses His Opponent Of Being A 'F***ing Woman Beater' During The Middle Of Their Fight

The heated back-and-fourth between the two fighters was picked up by the UFC's cage-side microphones.

Most of the talk after UFC 259 was centred around Amanda Nunes' dominant performance, the disqualification in the bantamweight title bout and - of course - Jan Blachowicz handing Israel Adesanya his first ever MMA defeat.

And while our fellow Aussie Megan Anderson fell agonisingly short on the night, the main card for UFC 259 was arguably one of the most action-packed we've seen in a long time.

But it seems everyone's attention has now turned towards an incident that occurred on the undercard, which saw Tim Elliott and Jordan Espinosa involved in a heated mid-fight exchange.

Former TUF winner Elliott came out on top in a flawless display, but the bout was somewhat marred by the serious accusations made inside the octagon.

"I heard you choked a girl in 2018," Elliott said while hammering Espinosa with some brutal ground and pound.

"Are you a woman beater? Are you a f***ing woman beater? [Inaudible] messaged me."

And with seconds left on the clock, Espinosa had no option but to respond.

"You don't know the full story," he said.

But his reply didn't sit well with Elliott who continued battering his opponent on the ground.

"I know enough," Elliott said.

To which Espinosa hit back, saying: "You don't know s**t."

The interaction was picked up by the UFC microphones as well as the commentary team sitting cage-side.

"Wow, that's ugly," former dual-division champion Daniel Cormier said.

"There were some ugly words being spoken down there between these two."

While most of the buzz after the event was focused on the main card, it wasn't long before footage of the incident between Elliott and Espinosa spread like wildfire on social media.

And, of course, there's no prizes for guessing what the first question was during Elliott's post-fight press conference.

"I didn't say that for anybody else to hear because I don't know the whole story." Elliott explained to the media.

"It was kind of disturbing, the whole thing.

"This is the first fight that was ever personal to me. I wanted to hurt the guy. I let my emotions get the best of me because of the message I received.

"This is the first fight that was personal. It was hard for me to maintain my cool. I don't want to go into too many details. It's not something I'm proud to say everybody could hear but I'm glad it's out there and I'm glad, if it's true. That's why I didn't say anything on the internet. I know people lie. But it was pretty disturbing the messages I received."

Everyone was also keen to hear what Espinosa had to say for himself, but the Ohio native had received clear instructions from his agent.

"We will not be commenting on Tim Elliott's accusations," Espinosa's manager Bryan Hamper said.

"It is extremely unfortunate that an athlete who has no information of the situation is given a platform to recklessly slander another athlete with no credible information other than a message. It sets a dangerous precedent allowing this type of behaviour to make headlines. Words matter."
