Khabib Nurmagomedov Has Named His Price To Come Out Retirement

The former UFC lightweight champion ain't messing around.

Dana White wants him to come out retirement.

UFC fans are pleading with him to come out retirement.

And Khabib's own supporters, most certainly, are crying out for him to come out retirement. But, as Dana White is quickly learning, that is proving to be a tough task.

And now, the longest-reigning lightweight champion in history has slapped a pretty big price tag on his head that the UFC must cough up if they stand any chance of luring him out of retirement.

Khabib still hasn't technically vacated the lightweight belt.

The Russian fan favourite says he wants US$100million (AU$134million) to lace up the gloves again.

"If you decide to finish, finish," Khabib told Marca.

"But the most likely thing is that Dana offers me money.

"If, for example, it's 100 million dollars, it would be hard to make a decision.

"We'll see what he's thinking. I think it's something that will follow me until the end of my life."

But there's another catch.

If Khabib was to make a highly-anticipated return, he doesn't want to hear a peep about potential rematches with long-time rival Conor McGregor and former interim champ Dustin Poirier.

He simply said: "I'm not interested. I beat them both easily."

Khabib fought Poirier in Abu Dhabi in late 2019.

While White still needs to fill the gaping void left by Khabib's absence, he's certainly got plenty of big-name fighters interesting in making the lightweight division their own.

There's McGregor, Poirier, Tony Ferguson, Dan Hooker, Justin Gaethje and new boy Michael Chandler.

Even Australian featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski recently registered his interest in stepping up to fight at 155 pounds.

But UFC president White is clearly set on trying to lure Khabib out of retirement.

McGregor was famously paid $100m to fight legendary boxer Floyd Mayweather in an exhibition bout back in 2017, but is the Irishman's rival worthy of a similar payment too?

We shall have to see.
