Dana White has hired a security guard who was wrongly-sacked for tackling a shoplifter.

Summer Tapasa was booted from her job at Best Buy last year after video emerged of her taking down and blocking a man who was trying to steal a television.

Hawaiian-native Tapasa was praised for her efforts by viewers as the footage instantly went viral but others didn't think too fondly of it - including her boss.

The 24-year-old subsequently lost her job when the video flooded the internet, but it wasn't long before a certain someone was made aware of it.

Touched by the story, UFC president White reportedly reached out to Tapasa and flew her out to Las Vegas to watch Conor McGregor vs Donald Cerrone at UFC 246.

But White's good deeds for the day didn't stop there.

Incredibly, the UFC boss then decided to hired Tapasa as part of UFC's security team.

"Do you remember the girl, Summer, that worked for Best Buy as security in Hawaii?" White said in a video via Twitter.

"Somebody was stealing a TV, some dude, and she beat his a** and stopped him from stealing the TV.

"She got fired from Best Buy, which I thought was horrible. So I brought her out to Vegas.

"I offered her a job here. She went back to Hawaii, she weighed up all her options and she decided to come work for the UFC.

"She is now a UFC employee.

"So all you people thinking about f***ing around over here at the UFC, you'll get your a*** whooped by Summer!"
