Heart-Warming Moment Between Conor McGregor And Dustin Poirier's Wife Caught On Camera

Classy stuff from both McGregor and Jolie Poirier.

Leading up to his fights, Conor McGregor has become renowned for engaging in an often heated war of words with his opponents.

But after his bouts he continues to remain gracious in victory or defeat.

And that professionalism was on display once again in the aftermath of his lightweight clash with former rival Dustin Poirier at UFC 257.

Just moments after being knocked out for the first time in his UFC career, cameras followed McGregor backstage and managed to capture a touching exchange between the Irishman and Poirier's wife Jolie.

And while McGregor is known among MMA fans and fighters for his quick-witted trash talk and mental warfare, this short clip posted on the UFC's social media channels shows just the type of bloke he really is.

"Hello Jolie, how are you?" McGregor said as Poirier's wife made her way into his dressing room.

"I just wanted to say thank you so much," Jolie replied.

To which McGregor responded: "Congratulations tonight, he fought a great fight."

Prior to UFC 257 in Abu Dhabi, McGregor had made a significant donation to Dustin and Jolie's charity The Good Fight Foundation which aims to support underprivileged communities in their hometown of Louisiana.

But instead of reaching out via social media, Jolie wanted to thank McGregor in person herself.

"Thank you for everything," she said.

"It's going to help change a lot of people's lives."

And despite looking rather dejected while icing his injured knee, McGregor even managed to crack a smile as he replied to Jolie.

"Thank you so much," he said.

"We'll get out to Louisiana and get into the gym at some point.

"Enjoy it all, he fought an amazing fight. Thank you."

It's not the first time McGregor has been somewhat gracious in defeat (okay, let's forget about the incident with Khabib Nurmagomedov for a second).

When Nate Diaz upset the odds and choked out the former dual-division champ at UFC 196, McGregor was quick to praise his opponent - despite the growing tensions between the two camps in the build-up to the grudge match.

And even after his highly-anticipated boxing bout with Floyd Mayweather, McGregor didn't hesitate to put his arm around the undefeated 49-0 legend to congratulate him.

Don't get me wrong, the UFC fan favourite is a savage before and during his fights (just ask Jeremy Stephens AKA "Who the fook is that guy" or poor old Jose Aldo).

But in the immediate aftermath of his bouts, win or lose, he seems like an alright guy.
