Edson Draggo has been arrested in Brazil after local police discovered 10kg of cocaine and crack in his car.

According to MMA Fighting, the drugs were found "hidden underneath the rear bumper and inside the dashboard of a white Fiat Siena" which Draggo was driving.

It's understood the former MMA star tried to escape authorities but was eventually detained by cops.

Police have confirmed that the 10kg (or 22 pounds) worth of drugs has an estimated street value of $380,000.

The 43-year-old now faces a nervous wait to see what punishment is handed down to him by a judge.

It turns out this isn't the first time Draggo has had a run-in with the law though.

Since hanging up the MMA gloves, the Brazilian veteran has been arrested several times having been accused of robbery, embezzlement, illegal possession of a weapon and even kidnapping.

It seems his unsuccessful crime career is on par with his rather unimpressive MMA career too.

Despite boasting a nine-fight unbeaten streak at the start of his career, Draggo was unable to fulfil any of the hype and ended up retiring with a professional record of 13 wins and 7 losses.

He did, however feature on popular promotions such as Pride and Cage Rage during the mid-to-late 2000s
