If you thought the rivalry between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz was dead and buried, you'd be sorely mistaken.

The two UFC fan favourites have reignited their heated beef, going back and forth with each other in a lengthy Twitter spat.

What started the fiery exchange? Well, nothing really.

Their age-old feud kicked off again when McGregor shared a photo of the two rivals facing off at a press conference back in 2016.

"Now add 30lb of muscle on to me and say 'ding, ding' in Dublin accent," he said in the caption.

As far as McGregor's social media posts to go, this one was pretty tame compared to the rest and seemed fairly innocuous at the time.

One person who wasn't too impressed, though, was Diaz himself.

The UFC icon immediately hit back, pointing out that the Irishman can't actually walk at the moment following his leg snap against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 - let alone have a scrap with someone.

The two then traded barbs in a lengthy and rather bitter Twitter exchange.

Below is how it all played out...
