Colby Covington is at it again.

The trash-talking UFC villain has gone to town on fellow welterweight Khamzat Chimaev, blasting him for contemplating retirement after battling COVID-19.

Covington is preparing for his rematch against Kamaru Usman at UFC 268 for another shot at the 170-pound belt.

Being fight week, all the fighters on the card have been handling their media obligations, but when Covington was interviewed by Fox Sports Australia he decided to unload on one of the division's upcoming stars.

When asked whether Khamzat Chimaev was deserving of a title shot, Covington said: "You mean 'Cumshot Chimaev'? How does a guy who has three fights in the UFC be considered for a title shot?

"He hasn't fought anybody inside the top 10, he hasn't fought anybody who's still in the UFC. I mean, his last fight, no one really knows who he fought. Who is that guy? I've never heard of that Chinese guy.

"He's fighting a bunch of washouts. These are guys that he has been tailor made to wrestle, take down and win."

But if you thought Covington was done, then you'd be sorely mistaken.

Once he was done with taking aim at Chimaev's fighting ability, the Donald Trump die-hard then fired shots at him for considering retirement after suffering from the prolonged effects of coronavirus.

"Cumshot Chimaev is a bum," Covington added.

"He was losing a fight to the common cold. He was ready to retire over the common cold. You think Cumshot Chimaev has a chance against me?

"He lost to the common cold and was ready to retire from something that has a 99.9% survival rate. If he gets in the octagon with me, I promise you it's less than a 99.9% survival rate."

Covington has never shied away from trash-talking his UFC rivals.

When he first burst onto the scene, he called Brazil a "dump" while fighting in Rio de Janeiro.

He has also called out basically everyone on the UFC roster, from people in his division like Tyron Woodley and Kamaru Usman to retired greats like Michael Bisping.

Even his former roommate and best pal Jorge Masvidal has copped a tongue lashing from Covington.

Well, now. we can add Chimaev to that growing list of fighters that probably can't wait to get their hands on Covington.
