Why This Image Of A Dallas Cowboys Couple Has Become A Viral Meme

Why This Image Of A Dallas Cowboys Couple Has Become A Viral Meme

The Dallas Cowboys are struggling.

And it's beginning to take its toll on their Super Bowl-starved fans.

But unfortunately for them, one couple's despair has turned it another's joy.

With Pro Bowl quarterback Dak Prescott out for the remained of the NFL season with a compound fracture, a gaping void has been left in the heart of the Cowboys team - and it's really starting to show.

And their latest defeat might just have been the most demoralising yet.

Dallas slumped to a 38-10 defeat the hands of DeAndre Hopkins, Kyler Murray and the red-hot Arizona Cardinals.

Despite throwing for 266 yards, backup quarterback Andy Dalton couldn't guide the team to victory at AT&T Stadium in Texas.

The damning loss condemned the Cowboys to a 2-4 record for the season.

But while their inability to win has fans pulling their hair out, it's their overall performances (or lack there of) that has truly left the Dallas faithful with their heads buried in their hands.

And one super-fan in particular was no different.

During the coverage of the game, a man and a woman sporting Cowboys jerseys were captured on camera not looking too happy up in the stands.

And the bloke, himself, couldn't even bare to watch.

The ESPN camera panned out to show the poor supporter with his head in his hands while being consoled by his partner.

The image of the couple appeared on the big-screen inside the stadium, which sparked a social media frenzy among fans from the other 31 teams in the NFL - and a host of sports broadcasters for that matter.

Once dubbed 'America's Team', the Cowboys are proving to be anything but in recent years.

And it appears to be the fan base's overwhelming sense of optimism before every NFL season that really gets under the skin of opposing supporters.

Whether you're a die-hard Dallas fanatic or not, the fact that the team hasn't appeared in the Super Bowl since 1996 doesn't paint a particularly pleasant picture for the Jerry Jones-owned franchise.

Some would even argue that they've become the laughing stock of the NFL.

Harsh.

But this viral reaction to one simple yet hilarious image indicates just how easy it is to pick on them.
