Aussie cricketer Steve Smith underwent a week-long "torture session" with Chris Hemsworth's personal trainer.

And judging by the pictures, it looked like hard work.

Star batsman and former Test captain Smith travelled up to the Byron Bay in July of 2020 during the off-season in a bid to maintain his fitness levels.

Once he touched down in beautiful Byron, Smith met up with a bloke called Luke Zocchi - the celebrity trainer of Thor himself.

An expert nutritionist as well as a hardcore fitness guru, Zocchi has some high-profile clients on his books and is currently helping Aussie actor Chris Hemsworth get in shape for his role as wrestler Hulk Hogan in the upcoming biopic movie.

But now Zoochi has spilled the beans on what it's like working with Australian cricket gun Smith - and it turns out he's a beast when it comes to cardio.

"Not to diss cricketers, but I think I went into it thinking he would be nowhere near as fit or strong as what he was," Zocchi told The Daily Telegraph.

"And he's bloody focused and determined. I put him through some hard sessions and he blew me away actually how athletic he was to be honest. I was really surprised how strong he was.

"He had me covered in cardio.

"We were doing some crazy assault bike and rowing sessions and he had me in the later stages of these hour-long workouts."

And in typical Smith fashion, instead of resting between brutal sets he used his valuable time to play some shadow cricket instead.

Zocchi added: "In between a hectic chest workout, while he was having his rest, I could see out the corner of my eye he was playing cricket shots."

Gotta love him.

In one of Smith's many social media posts over the seven days, he said: "Thanks to this legend @zocobodypro for an epic week of training."
