Shane Warne's Fragrance 'SW23' Has Officially Hit The Shelves

Cricket die-hards were desperate to know what the King of Spin's debut fragrance would smell like. Well, now they have an answer.

Eau de Warnie? Jean Paul Warnier? Yves Shane Laurent? Honestly, we could keep going.

Cricket god and Aussie icon Shane Warne made headlines earlier this week when he announced his plans to launch a men's fragrance.

And, well, we have an important update: The aftershave has officially hit the shelves.

In typical Warnie fashion, very little time was spent faffing around with the product name.

So, 'SW23' it was. Bowled, Shane.

Available at Chemist Warehouse for a modest $49.99, Warne's debut fragrance has sent fans into a frenzy with cricket tragics chomping at the bit to get a whiff of the legend's scent.

Question marks were immediately raised as to what the aftershave would actually smell like as people flocked to social media to give their thoughts.

Some suggested it would give off hints of freshly-cut grass from a cricket green, while other skeptics thought it would be more fitting for the fragrance to smell of cigarettes and beer (we all know how much the blonde bombshell loved to dabble in both of those things).

But it was GQ Australia who hit the nail on the head with their honest assessment: "Shane Warne's new fragrance is basically tailor-made for the post-game circuit". Yep, sounds about right.

Either way, fans couldn't wait to get their hands on the 100ml bottle of goodness.

According to the official description on the product, SW23 is a 'bold and woody fragrance, exhibiting hints of sophistication, sensuality and warmth'.

The description reads: "Opening with notes of fresh bergamot, mandarin leaf, cardamom and crisp apple, the scent transcends, develops and intensifies with mid notes of juniper berry, lavandin, clary sage and wild mint before finishing with bold base notes of Indonesian patchouli, birch wood, oak moss and leather accord.

"The refined yet bold bottle showcases the style of Shane himself, featuring a sleek black body adorned with silver accents - the perfect addition to any men's fragrance collection."

Warnie joins the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham, Michael Jordan, Maria Sharapova and Tigers Woods on the growing list of sports stars to release aftershaves or perfumes.

And the blonde-haired, sweet-talking former leg spinner is happy with the product he has put out, urging the public to 'get around it'.

Speaking to the Daily Telegraph, the King of Spin said: "I've had some good feedback from women, they seem to like this.

"People will notice you wearing it and they will comment on how wonderful you smell. It creates conversation and will make you feel happy, confident and sophisticated."
