John Fury reckons his eldest son Tyson and his brothers would 'batter' former Love Island contestant Tommy if he ever lost to YouTuber Jake Paul.

Oh, and Big John also vowed that his sons would 'retire him from boxing' too.

No pressure lad.

After months of back-and-forth via social media, a grudge match between Tommy Fury and Jake Paul looks like it could be signed off sometime soon.

The duo have been in negotiations for what seems like an eternity, but Tommy's father admits it's almost a done deal/

"We're nearly there with the business side of it with Jake Paul," John told GiveMeSport.

"They're being greedy, but like I say, we know our worth, we want as much as we can out of this job.

"But we're nearly there, this fight is going to happen, we're 99.9 per cent of the way there.

"It's almost done, we've just got a few T's to cross and I's to dot and we're nearly there over the line, but it will happen."

With the prospect of derailing the Jake Paul hype train staring him in the face, there's already enough pressure on young Tommy's shoulders.

But it appears there's more than just bragging rights at stake here.

If Tommy somehow loses his first professional bout at the hands of a YouTuber, then he'll have his family to answer to first.

"Will Tommy beat Jake Paul? Absolutely," John added.

"He's a silly man because believe me, like Jake Paul is saying, if Tommy lost to Jake Paul, he would have to change his name to 'Tommy Fumbles'.

"Plus Tyson would batter him, Hughie would batter him, Shane would batter him, and we would retire him from boxing there and then, so there's no pressure really!"

The high-profile pair have been trading barbs for months now and it seems only a matter of time before they finally get the chance to settle their differences inside the ring.

Respected promoter Frank Warren is the man hoping to orchestrate it all and he believes we'll see the two lock horns before the end of the year.

"At the moment we're working through the terms, we're quite close and I'm hoping we can get it over the line," Warren told iFL TV.

"It's a great fight for Tommy. It's a very lucrative fight for him. Financially, how can you turn that down?

"I think he wins it. It's captured everyone's imagination, it's all they were talking about out in the States.

"Hopefully, we will finish it off this week and we can move forward. It'll be in late November, December."
