Mike Tyson Takes On Game Of Thrones Star The Mountain In Upcoming Action Movie 'Desert Strike'

Following on from his success in The Hangover franchise, Mike Tyson looks set to launch his own film career with the upcoming action movie Desert Strike.
Former heavyweight boxing world champion Tyson plays an ex-military man tasked with protecting a group of Egyptian refugees.

The antagonist in the film is a mercenary played by Game of Thrones megastar and former World's Strongest Man Hafthor Bjornsson, otherwise known as 'The Mountain'.
Upon seeing the two names together, one would probably be expecting a thrilling, action-packed movie with plenty of fight scenes - and the odd exploding car, of course.
But if the official trailer is anything to go by, don't hold your breath if you're hoping for a cinematic masterpiece.

Whether it's the pretty average acting (sorry Mike) or the not-so-realistic combat scenes (yes, that's aimed at you Hafthor), the trailer doesn't exactly paint the movie in the best light.
Even in the short two-minute promo, all of the most exciting parts are on display to the point where I feel like I've already seen the whole movie just from watching the trailer alone.
The former 'Baddest Man on the Planet' received plenty of plaudits for his role in The Hangover movies when he produced one of the most iconic scenes ever by punching Zach Galifianakis' character 'Alan' in the face.
But 'Desert Strike' is a far cry from those days.
As for 'The Mountain', even his acting looks pretty lacklustre despite boasting plenty of experience in front of the camera.

Wrestling legend Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has certainly set the tone for any high-profile athlete wishing to try their luck in Hollywood.
And while Tyson is still in the early stages of his acting career, it seems he's still got a long way to go if he's got any chance of catching the recently-named highest-paid actor in the world (and no, that doesn't mean I think Rampage, San Andreas and Skyscraper are decent movies).
That being said, you can't knock Tyson's efforts.

Not only is he entering the film industry now, but he's also juggling that with his boxing comeback, podcasting and running a hugely-popular marijuana company in the US.
As for Desert Strike, the movie itself is set for release in US cinemas sometime in mid-2021.
