Rashad Evans has joined the growing list of sports stars who can't wait to get their hands on the Paul brothers.

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Evans clearly wants to be the person to shut the trash-talking YouTubers up and has now challenged older sibling Logan to a boxing match.

Now 41, "Suga" hasn't fought professionally since June 2018 when he was defeated by Anthony Smith at UFC 225 - not that he seems to care though.

Evans has a second coming firmly in his sights and he now has picked out the perfect opponent for his comeback bout.

"We can be talking an MMA fight, but particularly speaking, I'm talking a boxing match right now," Evans told MMA Junkie.

"I would love to do one of these boxing matches, one of these celebrity boxing matches, particularly with Logan Paul. I know that fight's on the table, and it's just a matter if Logan Paul wants to take it. I put my name in the hat, and we'll see what happens. We'll see if it's a challenge he's up for because at the end of the day, if he fights me, it's gonna be a fight."

And it appears Evans wasn't too impressed with what he saw of Logan during the YouTuber's recent exhibition bout against boxing royalty Floyd Mayweather.

"All the respect to the great Mayweather, but Mayweather was just playing," Suga added.

"He was playing around with him. He allowed Logan to look good, he allowed Logan to feel comfortable, but if Logan comes against me, Logan's gonna have to do some work. And I'm not sure if he's for that, but we'll see. We'll see if he accepts this fight and he's down, then he's a lot tougher than I thought, but if he don't, the party goes on. I'll find somebody else to dance with."

Evans might not rate either Logan or Jake as pure boxers, but he admits he has to tip his hat to them for what they've managed to do for the sport.

Since the Paul brothers burst onto the scene, we've witnessed an influx of big-name sports stars and celebrities register their interest in lacing up the gloves.

Some hate it, whereas others love it.

But as a former world champion and UFC Hall of Famer himself, Evens knows the sort of mentality that a true fighter must possess to get to the top - one he believes Logan hasn't got the slightest idea about.

"There were talks with Roy Jones. There were talks with Logan Paul," Evans said.

"I don't know what's going to happen with the Roy Jones situation, but the Logan Paul is one we were trying to get for September 18. It all depends if it's something he really wants to do or something he feels confident about doing because, at the end of the day, he's not a real fighter. He doesn't have the mentality of a fighter, so for him, he sees fighting for popularity.

"He's young, he's tough, he's got some size. I feel like it'll be competitive. I haven't fought in a long time, and he's been training, he's been looking pretty good, so I think it'll be a pretty good fight and something good for the fans, too."

If you had any doubts as to which fighter would get their hand raised at the end of the night, Suga has the answer for you.

"I most definitely can knock Logan Paul out, without a doubt," he told TMZ.
