Dana White reckons Tyron Woodley will knock out Jake Paul in their boxing match, but the UFC president admits his former employee is a shell of the fighter he once was.

Former UFC welterweight champ Woodley is set to take on Jake Paul on August 28 with many sports fans praying that Woodley shuts up the trash-talking YouTuber once and for all.

But at 39 years of age and on a four-fight losing streak, some supporters are giving Paul a "punchers chance" of upsetting the odds and actually winning.

Now UFC boss White - who has shared a rather frosty relationship with both athletes - has weighed in on the topic, giving his thoughts on who he thinks will win.

"Tyron Woodley has punching power," White told the Real Quick With Mike Swick podcast.

"Obviously, he's put a lot of dudes to sleep in his career. Tyron Woodley doesn't look like the Tyron Woodley of the past that was putting everybody to sleep. He hasn't won a fight in three years. He's going to be 40 years old. But, I will give it to (Jake Paul). He's at least stepping in there with a guy who can punch."

Woodley has secured victories over some of the biggest names in mixed martial arts throughout his decorated career, boasting a professional record of 19 wins and 7 losses.

As for Paul, he has knockout victories over a fellow YouTuber, an ex-NBA player and most-recently a 36-year-old retired Ben Askren.

But incredibly, Paul has emerged as the bookies' favourite to get his hand raised against Woodley - something Dana White can completely understand.

"(That's) because it has to do with Woodley's age and he hasn't won a fight in three years," White added.

"You tell me when is the last time you saw Woodley look like Woodley, (but) I'd have to go with Woodley by knockout.

Listen, man. Woodley should knock him out. But, again, the Tyron Woodley that you talk about, that was the champ, isn't the same f**king guy he was four years ago."
