George Kambosos Jr has probably received thousands of calls and messages of support over the past 72 hours, but he probably wasn't expecting a FaceTime from Jake Paul.

The Aussie's stock has gone through the roof since his historic victory over Teofimo Lopez last weekend.

On the night, Kambosos Jr produced a performance for the ages to be crowned unified lightweight champion of the world and automatically become a household name all over the world.

Now, rather unsurprisingly, every man and his dog wants a piece of him.

While the likes of Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia have wasted no time in calling him out, others have jumped on the Kambosos Jr bandwagon - Jake Paul being one of them.

In the wake of his win, Kambosos Jr took to social media to share a picture of him on a video call with YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul.

"When you're getting the love from @jakepaul you know you're doing something right," he tweeted.

"Thank you brother for the support, your time December 18."

To which Paul replied: "All love."

To be fair to Paul, he was one of the first to react to Kambosos Jr's victory.

Just as the Australian has his hand raised, Paul tweeted: "DONT F**K WITH AUSTRALIA/ CONGRATS @georgekambosos."

He then followed that up with a picture, captioning it: "George welcomed Teofimo to the land Down Under."

This glowing praise for Kambosos Jr was all well and good, but that was nothing compared to the roasting that Paul was going to hand his rival Lopez shortly after.

After witnessing Lopez's post-fight antics where he gatecrashed the in-ring interview to claim that he was robbed, Paul decided to respond by laying into him with a bunch of brutal memes.

Paul posted a picture on his Instagram story showing Lopez on the canvas with a speech bubble over his head saying "I'm definitely winning this fight."

He then shared an image of a black leather belt on sale at Walmart, captioning it: "@teofimolopez since George took all your belts I found this one for you that's super nice and affordable."

But this beef didn't just spring up out of thin air.

It seems there's some deep-seated issues between the two blokes, stemming from comments made by Lopez aimed in Jake and Logan Paul's direction.

It all stems from comments Lopez made back in February.

"Stop this YouTuber Boxing," he said via social media.

"Stop diminishing the sport that we've worked so hard for! S**t not sweet."

This didn't sit well with Paul who has made no secret of the fact that he is team Kambosos Jr all the way.
