A boxer that fought on the same card as Jake Paul looked completely unrecognisable after her defeat to world champion Amanda Serrano.

Miriam Gutierrez absorbed a scary amount of punches throughout the 10-round scrap - 237, to be exact.

In the end, it was Serrano who had her hand raised, winning via unanimous decision.

But for Gutierrez, she'll certainly be a bit sore for the next few days.

Bumping into each other backstage, there was nothing but respect between the two opponents as they hugged it out.

They even posed for a photo too, although the picture really shows how much damage Gutierrez sustained throughout the bout.

In the post on Serrano's Instagram, you can see just how swollen the bridge of Gutierrez's nose is, not to mention the black eyes which she can barely see out of.

Serrano captioned the picture: "I hope you enjoyed. I did! My opponent @miriamlareina83 was a big tough mother. Nothing but love and respect to her."

In contrast to her weigh-in photos, the Spanish fighter looks like a completely different person.

What is it they say: You don't play boxing.

Gutierrez's injuries were reminiscent of former MMA world champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk who suffered a huge haematoma on her forehead during her defeat to Weili Zhang at UFC 248.

As for Serrano, he looks set for a super-fight with fellow champion Katie Taylor in what's being described as one of the biggest bouts in women's boxing history.
