Man City Josko Gvardiol has three shirts on the wall, including surprise former Premier League star

Man City's Josko Gvardiol has three shirts on his wall, including a bizarre addition.

Manchester City star Josko Gvardiol has three framed shirts on his wall, but one is utterly bizarre.

Gvardiol's move to Man City dominated the headlines last summer, and after weeks of set-backs and back-and-forth negotiations, City snapped up the defender for £77.6 million.

As many new arrivals in Pep Guardiola's squad do, Gvardiol took time to find his feet and look comfortable in City's complex system.

But over the last couple of months he has looked superb playing at left-back, and has even added goals to his game.

The 21-year-old has scored four goals in City's last five Premier League outings, including a brace in a 4-0 win against Fulham on Sunday.

Gvardiol has played with and against some of the best players in the world, but perhaps surprisingly, he doesn't have their shirts framed and hanging on his wall.

One of the three shirts he has is the Croatia national team shirt, while another belongs to his international teammate Filip Krovinovic from when he was at Benfica.

The final one shirt is a bit of an odd one. Gvardiol owns the shirt of former Chelsea, Southampton and Leicester City left-back Ryan Bertrand despite never actually swapping jerseys with him.

The story goes that Bertrand's agency were keen on linking up with Gvardiol in his younger days but nothing ever materialised. As a sort of apology, Gvardiol received a signed Bertrand jersey.

"His agent wanted to sign me, but in the end none of that happened, so he sent me a signed jersey," Gvardiol explained, as per 90 Min.

Bertrand made 262 appearances in the Premier League but has been without a club following the expiration of his Leicester contract last summer.

It's unclear whether or not Gvardiol has added to his shirt collection this season, but he would surely love to swap jerseys with Liverpool centre-back Virgil van Dijk.

"As a kid, I admired Lionel Messi, but now I am increasingly watching the players in my position. And today the best is Virgil Van Dijk," he told 24sata.

Gvardiol will become a Premier League champion at the first attempt if City beat Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday and West Ham on the final day.
