Vince McMahon To Make A Major Sporting Announcement Later On Today

Vince McMahon is making a "major sporting announcement" later on today at 8pm GMT time.

WWE have announced that the Chairman, and founder of Alpha Entertainment, will be announcing the big news this evening and it's got plenty of people talking - with the 72-year old billionaire trending on Twitter as a result.

A lot of people on social media are hoping that, after endless rumours, Vinny Mac will purchase Newcastle United.

However, despite Newcastle's incredible wrestling-related unveiling of Chelsea's Kenedy on loan, set to the tune of Mr Kennedy's theme song, it looks like it won't be happening.

Instead, the consensus is that McMahon is relaunching the XFL, the American football franchise that was set-up to compete with the NFL but lasted just one season and was a "colossal failure" as per the man himself.

According to Forbes, the XFL lost $70 million when NBC pulled out of broadcasting games, but being the nutter that he is, Vince is giving it another bash - though he will most likely change the name of the league.

According to Mike Johnson from PWInsider, the aim is to have the league up and running by the time 2020 rolls around and WWE have already been working on video material to hype up the return of the XFL.
