Kofi Kingston Says The New Day Will Never Split Up

Kofi Kingston Says The New Day Will Never Split Up

The WWE's longest reigning tag champions of all time are as strong as ever even with one of their number targeting singles gold.

Whenever the New Day retire they will go down as one of the greatest tag-teams in WWE history and Kofi Kingston claims that retirement is the only way him, Big E and Xavier Woods won't still be together.

In their time together the New Day have had either the RAW or Smackdown tag team titles in their possession for 640 days, more than any other tag team around.

Their run of 483 consecutive days with the RAW titles will go down in history and it pretty much guarantees that when their careers are over they'll be in the Hall of Fame.

Right now though talk of the end is so far from their minds and in fact the biggest night they've had together could soon be around the corner as one of the men, Kofi Kingston, could be in the match for the WWE title at Wrestlemania 35 and April 7th.

Kofi must beat Samoa Joe, Randy Orton, Seamus, Cesaro and Erick Rowan on Smackdown Live on Tuesday night for the chance to face Daniel Bryan for the title at Wrestlemania.

Despite the fact that Big E and Xavier Woods have been the loudest men to beat the drum for their stablemate many think that Kingston winning the title could be the end for the New Day.

Speaking on a WWE conference call though the seven time tag champ explained why that's not the case, saying:

"We will always stay together, no matter what. A lot of people have been asking about this.

"You see a lot of groups and factions break up because one person wants to be better than the rest or once to go off and branch out on their own. We've all done that, we've all been on our own, and the whole reason we came together was to be stronger.

"Besides that we also like each other very much, we're best friends on the road, we've never had a fight in the four/five years we've been travelling together and we all came on this journey together."

"I know I'm the one at the centre of this story but it really is about all of us. It was always the goal, for one of us to be able to contend for the WWE title and here we are, mission accomplished.

"It just doesn't make sense to break up, we know we're stronger as a three and it's way more fun. I don't want to do this when I'm not having fun so if I'm not with the boys, then I wouldn't be having as much fun. We will not break up, ever."

That's pretty unequivocal then, the New Day are at their greatest point so far and they won't be stopping any time soon.

Speaking of being at their greatest point, Kofi is excited to find out if this is about to be the best moment of his career so far, saying, "I guess we'll find out. It's certainly very exciting to be in the position, last week able to go toe to toe with Vince McMahon on the mic. To me that's a sign that you've made it and you're on the right path. Not many people get to do that, so for me to be in that ring with Vince is awesome.

"It's definitely is an exciting time. The WWE Universe is behind me and it's an awesome feeling to be able to go on social media and see all the positive feedback in terms of what people want to see and how we're able to deliver that to them. It's still going on right now so it's hard to say but it is a very exciting time."

If he manages to get to Wrestlemania and then defeats Daniel Bryan then it's fair to assume that Big E and Xavier Woods will be throwing one hell of a pancake party for Kofi Kingston.
