Every WrestleMania Main Event Ranked From 'GOAT' To 'Not Worthy'

Every WrestleMania Main Event Ranked From 'GOAT' To 'Not Worthy'

The Showcase of the Immortals has given us some sensational matches since 1985.

'Stone Cold' Steve Austin vs The Rock, Daniel Bryan vs Batista vs Randy Orton and The Undertaker vs AJ Styles have been listed as the greatest WrestleMania main events of all time.

SPORTbible used TierMaker to rate every closing match at WWE's big event from the very first iteration in 1985 to last year's show, from 'GOAT' category to 'Poor/Not Worthy' of the accolade.

Right at the top is Austin and Rock's second main event, having capped off WrestleMania 15 and 19 together.

In between that was their barnburner at Wrestlemania X-Seven, which ended with that handshake between Austin and WWE chairman Vince McMahon.

Two of the Attitude Era's biggest stars had to top the list given their undeniable impact on the business.

Next up is when Bryan achieved the ultimate dream of becoming WWE World Heavyweight Champion, after defeating Triple H in the opener of WrestleMania XXX.

Bryan tapped out Batista and led the 75,000 fans inside the Mercedes-Benz Superdome with a massive 'Yes!' chant, as commentator Michael Cole called it the 'Miracle on Bourbon St.'

It was the greatest underdog story the company have ever told - quite frankly because it was never supposed to happen.

Last up is The Undertaker's retirement match against AJ Styles, which came in a very unique setting.

With the world rocked by the Covid-19 pandemic, The Undertaker and Styles put together the cinematic 'Boneyard Match'.

A quite frankly cheesy premise on paper ended up being the perfect send-off for professional wrestling's greatest character - with Metallica's 'Now That We're Dead' playing as 'The Deadman' rode into the sunset.

It'll come as no surprise that 'Stone Cold' and The Rock's first WrestleMania meeting ranks in the 'Great Tier'.

Shawn Michaels breaks into the list in this tier with a whopping four appearances, ironically, not winning a single one of them.

They never said 'Mr. WrestleMania' had to win them all.

Seth Rollins cashing in during Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 31 ranks here, as does Reigns stacking, smashing and pinning Edge and Bryan last year.
