Tony Ferguson Wants Khabib Nurmagomedov Or Conor McGregor After Win Over Donald Cerrone

Tony Ferguson called out both Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor following his win over Donald Cerrone on Saturday night at UFC 238.

On four occasions Tony Ferguson has been due to face Khabib Nurmagomedov and on four occasions one of the two men has had to pull out for one reason or another.

At UFC 238 Ferguson brought up his 12th win in UFC in a row when the doctor called an end to his fight with Donald Cerrone before the third round started.

Khabib is due to face Dustin Poirier in September, which will be his first fight since beating Conor McGregor last year, and at the post fight press conference on Saturday Ferguson called both men out for his next opponent, saying:

"If Dustin Poirier don't do it, I'm going to do it. Tiramisu [Khabib Nurmagomedov] needs an ass whooping. He needs two to the stomach from me. If it's McNuggets [Conor McGregor] for a money fight or whatever. He's an athlete, too. I know the division misses him inside here. I'm pretty sure he misses the fight game, too.

"I want to keep winning. What sounds better than 12 [wins in a row]? 13 - but it sounds a hell of a lot better with a title shot in that 13th victory."

Ferguson was previously the interim champion, when McGregor held the lightweight title, but had to give it up due to injury.

The title was then won by Khabib, after McGregor was also stripped of his belt for inactivity, before Dustin Poirier won the interim title.

Poirier's belt was due to the Russian's ban following the post fight incident at UFC 229, when he'd faced McGregor, and he will attempt to be the first man to beat Khabib at UFC 242 in September.

Initially after his fight on Saturday Ferguson had offered a rematch to Cerrone:

Poirier could yet throw a spanner in the works but after four chances missed and an interim title stripped from his, there's no doubt that Ferguson will be hungry to get his hands on Khabib and the UFC lightweight belt.
