Khabib Nurmagomedov And Conor McGregor came face to face at the UFC 229 press conference as the pair gear up for their fight on October 6th and it was just as tense and explosive affair as everyone thought it would be.

For nearly two years Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor's rivalry has mainly been fought over the microphone and at distance but in just over two weeks time the pair will meet in the octagon at UFC 229. The closest the pair had previously been was when McGregor appeared in the build up to Khabib's last fight at UFC 223, where he beat Al Iaquinta to become lightweight champion, when the Irishman showed up and threw a trolley through the window of the bus Khabib and his team were on.

That had led to McGregor being arrested but set up their fight perfectly, once the Russian had won the world title that the Irishman had never lost in the octagon.

Tonight they faced off in the pre event press conference.

McGregor asked where the fans were saying that 'they wanted a war,' before explaining that he'd returned to MMA to 'shut' Khabib up and for 'the love of fighting.'

The Notorious One was the first one to stand up and call out his opponent, claiming the Russian would 'do nuttin.'

The former lightweight champion wouldn't allow his opponent a word in as he tried to promote his own Irish whiskey and toasted Dana White but Khabib turned down the offer of a glass.

He switched between trying to act as a joker and telling journalists that his training camp had been hard and he was ready for war.

The undefeated Russian did well not to rise to anything that McGregor said to him and stayed stoic throughout most of the Irishman's ramblings.

The pair then started arguing over the bus incident and the truth behind what happened between Khabib and McGregor's friend Artem Lobov.

Khabib claimed that his future opponent was just there for the money and that he'd send him back to boxing but McGregor said he had lots of money and that he didn't need to fight, before going back to selling his whiskey.

He then claimed he had 'supreme confidence' when asked about his grappling and wrestling quality and spoke very seriously about his preparation and what he'd learnt from the boxing fight with Floyd Mayweather.

Khabib never looked too happy with the exchanges and McGregor moved seamlessly from acting the fool, to being serious, to questioning Khabib's politics in a matter of seconds.

Now we look forward to October 6th.
