Conor McGregor Aims Shot At Khabib Nurmagomedov's Dad

The Notorious will have a fight on his hands when he steps back inside the octagon at UFC 229 later this year.

Conor McGregor versus Khabib Nurmagomedov could lead to some exciting fireworks between the pair as their frosty relationship gets ever worse. Now the Irishman has included his future opponents dad in his latest dig.

It has seemed for sometime that McGregor and Khabib would face each other. Ever since the Irishman stepped up a weight class and won the lightweight belt off Eddie Alvarez a fight with the undefeated Russian has been on the cards.

The pair have swapped verbal jibes for sometime but things became a lot worse back at UFC 223 earlier this year when McGregor and his entourage were involved in an incident that led the former champion to throw a dolly at a coach containing Khabib and several other UFC fighters.

Finally the pair will face in the octagon on October 6th at UFC 229, the first time that McGregor will be in an MMA fight since beating Alvarez in October 2016.

The rivalry will only get more heated between now and when they actually face off in Las Vegas in just over a months time and McGregor has turned it up a notch, taking aim at Khabib's father on Instagram and calling his son a 'quivering coward':

The Notorious' post is likely to be comeback to Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov's recent quotes which questioned McGregor's reign as lightweight champion in which Khabib's dad said:

"I think Conor understands that he wasn't the real champion at 155 [pounds].

"He only fought against two lightweights and one of them choked him out. When he took the belt, there were about six lightweights who were stronger than him.

"There are a lot of fighters who deserve a title shot more than Conor. For example, Poirier. He can keep a high pace, he tries to finish opponents. Poirier is the real contender."

Khabib senior also questioned McGregor's chances adding, "Physically and tactically, Khabib is stronger than Conor. Khabib has better cardio than Conor and 100 percent Khabib has better wrestling and grappling. we will choke him out when we decide to do it. Of course, Conor's left hand is very dangerous and he can throw the right uppercut. That's all. Nothing else."
