Mike Parry's Broken Nose Was One Of The Worst Injuries We've Seen

The 28-year-old picked up a gruesome looking injury against Vicente Luque back in August but recovered for another fight in December.

Back in the summer UFC welterweight Mike "Platinum" Perry left The Antel Arena in Uruguay with one of the worst broken noses you'll ever see.

The 28-year-old stepped into the octagon at UFC Fight Night with highly-rated fighter Vicente Luque on August 11th.

And it turned out to a gruesome co-main event, with both fighters somehow going the distance after a bloody and brutal bout.

The fact that Perry carried on is a miracle in itself. He was left with a shattered nose after walking into this flying knee in the third.

Luque went on to win the bout via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28), claiming his sixth straight bout.

But the biggest talking point was the state of Perry's battered nose.

UFC president Dana White and a number of other big names reacted to the brutal injury on social media.

"Easily worst nose break I've seen in a fight ever. Perry and Luque are tough as hell." said one Twitter user.

While another wrote: "Mike Perry's nose is on his cheek, what a disgusting injury!"

UFC posted footage of Luque's post-match interview on YouTube shortly after the fight.

And as you can see in the opening seconds, Perry was even freaked out by his broken nose, looking at himself on the big screen.

ESPN's post-show later confirmed that Mike Perry was taken to a local hospital for a CT scan after his team indicated he was having trouble breathing after the fight.

It was also announced that both fighters walked away with an additional $50,000 from the Fight of the Night award.

Astonishingly the injury didn't even keep Perry out of the ring for very long with the Michigan born fighter back in the Octagon before the end of the year.

Perry returned at UFC 245 to take on Geoff Neal but he might have wished he hadn't after Handz of Steel of finished the fight in just 90 seconds with some brilliant shots.
