Bookmakers Slash Odds On Conor McGregor Entering This Year's 'I'm A Celebrity'

Conor McGregor once responded to being called a celebrity by saying: "People think I'm a celebrity. I'm not a celebrity. I break people's faces for money and bounce."

Now, 18 months after saying he wasn't a celebrity during an interview with GQ magazine, bookmakers have slashed odds on 'Notorious' entering this year's I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here reality show.

Sorry but, we just can't imagine this happening.

According to The Mirror, fellow sports stars Ronnie O'Sullivan and Aaron Chalmers have been rumoured to be entering the jungle but the inclusion of McGregor would be their biggest contestant of all time - sorry, Steve Davis.

Ladbrokes spokesperson Jess Bridges said it 'should be a breeze' for the Irish fighter:

"McGregor's faced a fair few snakes in UFC, so the celebrity jungle should be a breeze for the Irishman." she said.

The 30-year-old is currently 4/1 with bookmakers to enter the ITV show, with Ladbrokes saying: "After his shock switch to the boxing ring to take on Floyd Mayweather last year, we're not ruling anything out."

Last year, Amir Khan commanded the highest ever fee for starring in I'm A Celebrity! Get Me Out Of Here, banking a reported £300,000 to be stuck in the jungle with a bunch of animals and insects.

But the 30 year-old has given a huge chunk of that to children's charity Barnardo's, for whom he's an ambassador.

Barnardo's chief executive Javed Khan was delighted.

He said: "I am very grateful to Amir Khan for this fantastic gift and his continued support as an ambassador for Barnardo's, which helps thousands of vulnerable children, young people, carers and parents every year."
