A day removed from Jon Jones defending his UFC light-heavyweight title against Anthony Smith, it appears his next opponent has already been revealed.

At UFC 235, Jones recorded his 24th professional MMA victory by out-pointing challenger Smith.

And Dana White has his next opponent in mind. The UFC president is eyeing up Thiago Santos as Jones' next defence.

"I love the Thiago Santos fight," White said at the UFC 235 post-fight presser.

"I love that fight. I would love to see him verse Jon Jones."

"Thiago looks unbelievable at that weight, he's big, I like his fighting style, and when you put Jon Jones in those type of fights, Jones shines," he added.

"Jones sort of is one of those guys who rises to the level of his opponent.

"I think Thiago Santos is going to be one of those guys who comes in aggressive, moves forward and gives you the kind of fight that you're used to seeing Jon Jones in."

The Brazilian slugger is riding an impressive four-fight win streak which includes scalps over Jimi Manuwa and Jan Blachowicz.

White didn't mention what card Jones vs. Santos could headline though there is an event scheduled for Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in the summer.

UFC 237 currently boasts a title fight between UFC women's strawweight champion Rose Namajunas and contender Jessica Andrade, among other bouts.

Will Jones vs. Santos join the ladies on May 11th?
