Khabib Nurmagomedov's fast climb over the cage and brawl with Conor McGregor's team is a moment that is going down in the history books of UFC.

Not many people would have expected the Russian fighter to respond the way that he did, especially after he had beaten the Irishman to retain his UFC Lightweight Championship.

But not everyone walked away from Khabib's attack safe and sound, according to certain reports.

ESPN's Chael Sonnen has said that Dillon Danis was "wobbling" as he was escorted out of the building.

McGregor also fell victim to an attack from three members of Khabib's camp, who were arrested following the incident. However, SPORTbible reported on new footage that emerged online showing that the Notorious might have instigated the punch-up.

Khabib took McGregor to the fourth round in the octagon, applying a submission lock that would ultimately win him the match, retain his title and extend his unbeaten record to 27 wins.

The current Lightweight Champion explained during a post-match press conference why he did what he did after the fight.

"I want to say sorry to the athletic commission, sorry to Vegas. I know this is not my best side," he said.

"I don't understand how people can say I jumped on the cage. He talked about my religion, my family, he came to Brooklyn and could have killed people on the bus.

"Why are we talking about me climbing on the cage? My father taught me to be respectful. Today, he tapped, the belt is here, undisputed, undefeated UFC Lightweight Champion. This is a respectful sport, not a trash-talking sport."
