Miami police have reportedly arrested Conor McGregor, alleging he smashed a fan's phone at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach hotel.

The Miami Herald says the fan was trying to get a photo with the UFC star before McGregor allegedly threw it on the ground and jumped on it several times.

The UFC superstar, who is still serving his six month ban for his involvement in the melee that took place after his most recent fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov, was charged with strong-arm robbery and criminal mischief of $1,000 or more.

As per TMZ the Irishman was walking out of Fontainebleau hotel in Miami Beach at around 5 am on Monday when a fan, who had been in the club, started taking pictures of the fighter, McGregor slapped the phone out of the owner's hand and began to stomp on it when it was on the ground.

McGregor, who is thought to have been visiting LIV nightclub, which is in the hotel, then walked off with the phone after he had damaged it.

The 30 year old is believed to have been spotted by surveillance cameras and wasn't arrested at the scene of the crime but at his home on Miami Beach.

The former dual weight UFC champion spent Monday in Miami-Dade jail.

As well as his involvement with the post Khabib fight incident, at UFC 229, the Irishman was also in trouble before the fight after he attacked a bus that the Russian was on ahead of UFC 223.

After McGregor's teammate Artem Lobov was approached by Khabib and his team the Irishman flew from his home country to America to track his rival down.

He threw a trolley at the bus in a violent attack and his arrest led to him having to take anger management classes and do five days of community service.

McGregor only completed the community service days ago and once again finds himself in trouble with the law.
