It's not in Conor McGregor's skill set to stay quiet and let a big story in UFC pass him by and in typical fashion the Irishman has weighed in on TJ Dillashaw's ban for failing a drugs test.

On Wednesday TJ Dillashaw revealed that he was relinquishing his bantamweight title after drugs tests came back with 'adverse findings' and he was then banned from competing for a year because of the result of the test.

The test was taken after the former UFC champion was defeated for the flyweight title by holder Henry Cejudo back in January.

One person who already a fan of Dillashaw is Conor McGregor. Speaking about the 33 year in 2015, when he appeared on the Ultimate Fighter show, McGregor said, "He is a twerp. You [Urijah Faber] shouldn't let him into your shit, because he is a snake in the grass and I told you that to your face!"

And the 'snake in the grass' motif was back when the Notorious heard the news of Dillashaw's ban. He was straight on Twitter to make everyone know he is the new St Patrick, fitting considering last weekend's celebrations.

Legend says that St Patrick ran all of the snakes out of Ireland and it's one of the reasons he's celebrated on March 17th, the anniversary of his death.

McGregor wasn't the only one who can claim he foretold Wednesday's news as one former Dillashaw opponent had previously accused the former champion of being a drugs cheat.

Ahead of his fight with Cody Garbrandt in November 2017 the then bantamweight champion said in a press conference, "Oh, yeah, the guy's on everything."

Dillashaw replied sarcastically saying, "Yeah, I'm on everything. They test me every day. I'm on everything."

Garbrandt then responded with a claim saying, "Funny, you're the one who showed everyone how to do it on Team Alpha Male."

It seems plenty of people are very happy to see TJ Dillashaw get his comeuppance.
