Artem Lobov was only released from UFC this week but the MMA fighter has quickly gone down the route of teammate Conor McGregor and called out a boxer, Amir Khan.
Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov is the UFC rivalry that refuses to go away but things between the pair wouldn't be anywhere near as heated as they are if it wasn't for Artem Lobov, a man unknown by many a casual UFC fan.
The two lightweights had already been involved in some back and forth insults but when Khabib and his team cornered Lobov ahead of UFC 223 it triggered McGregor to fly to America to confront him.
That's when the Irishman started throwing things at the bus which Khabib, his teammates and the rest of the fighters on that card, were on.
From there the whole thing turned into utter farce, finally concluding with this week's fines and suspensions for those involved.
One piece of news you might have missed though was Lobov asking for his release from UFC, which was swiftly granted by Dana White, and it's not taken him long to get into his next move.
The Russian has already called out the world of boxing on Twitter and asked Amir Khan and Paulie Malignaggi for a fight:
Khan already has a high profile fight coming up as he attempts to win the WBO welterweight title when he takes on Terence Crawford on April 20th.
It's not even the first time that Lobov has called out the Olympic silver medalist on social media, having engaged in an exchange with him in 2013:
Malignaggi is another man who has a rivalry with the Russian's friend McGregor following the Irishman's move into boxing to face Floyd Mayweather.
Will Lobov be the next MMA fighter to have a go at boxing and will Khan fight him?
