AC Milan keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has revealed he was too embarrassed to speak to Cristiano Ronaldo when they clashed with Juventus on Sunday.

The Old Lady won 2-0 at the San Siro at the weekend as Mario Mandzukic and Ronaldo netted, while Gonzalo Higuain, on-loan at Milan from Juventus, was shown a red card.

The highly-rated keeper revealed afterwards that he was too embarrassed to try and start a conversation with the five-time Ballon d'Or winner despite being very excited to play against him.

"It was so exciting to meet Ronaldo, because I was always up against him in my PlayStation games," the youngster told Rai Sport

"I didn't speak to him, as I was too embarrassed."

Meanwhile, AC Milan are fifth in the Serie A and already trail leaders Juventus by a whopping 13 points.

It is also unclear whether they will qualify from their Europa League group as they are joint second with Olympiakos on seven points, while Real Betis are top with eight, so their progression hangs in the balance.

Their poor form has led to suggestions that their manager Gennaro Gattuso, who used to play for the San Siro side, could be facing the sack.

And France Football reported earlier this month that Arsene Wenger is set to take over at the Italian giants, while the bookies make him 1/4 to do so.

Gattuso is the favourite (EVS) to be the next manager to leave their post, followed by Bayern Munich manager Niko Kovac at 3/1 and Jose Mourinho at 7/1.

Elsewhere, it is understood Bayern are ready to replace Kovac with Zinedine Zidane, read the story here.
