It was an enthralling evening of Champions League football on Tuesday night, but it was Wigan's Ryan Colclough that stole all the headlines.

The 22-year-old winner caused a storm across social media after scoring twice in Wigan's 3-0 win over Doncaster, then sprinting down the tunnel at the hour-mark to attend the birth of his son.

He rushed to the hospital just in time to see his son being born, but was still dressed head to toe in the Wigan kit he was wearing for the game.

Both Ryan's partner Steph and one-day-old Harley Thomas, who weighed 8lbs 6ozs, are doing well and the proud dad described the brace, the win and the birth as the 'perfect hat-trick' on Twitter.

And now EFL sponsor Sky Bet have made Colclough Jnr 200/1 to follow in his father's footsteps and play for Wigan Athletic, and 500/1 to pull on the Three Lions jersey for England.

Sky Bet spokesman Sandro Di Michele said: "What a fantastic story for Ryan and his family, and first of all, we'd like to offer them the warmest congratulations from all at Sky Bet.

"We know he's only a day old, but we think the way he came into the world means young Harley is destined for big things."
