Sergio Ramos' feud with Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren has been like a game tennis recently with the pair firing shots back and forth continuously.

And the 32-year-old added more fuel to fire today, saying: "If some people benefit from talking about me, great. But they should be known for what they do in their profession and not talking about others."

The rivalry started when Lovren claimed that the Madrid centre-back makes more mistakes than him, but people don't talk about them as much.

"If you look, Ramos, he has many more mistakes than me but he's at Real Madrid," the Croatian told Sport English.

"With (Cristiano) Ronaldo, when you make a mistake, it's 5-1, 5-2 and nobody sees the mistake. I'm quite unlucky, when I make the mistake it's 1-0."

Ramos hit back claiming Lovren only wanted the headlines.

"I've seen it many times," the Spaniard told the Daily Mail. "I don't know if these things are said out of frustration or for other reasons.

"I'm not going to answer Lovren or whoever wants to win three front pages or start the news bulleting.

"Everyone wins things for himself on the pitch."

After Croatia beat Spain 3-2 in the Nations League earlier this week, the Liverpool man boasted about elbowing Ramos in an Instagram post and called him and his teammates "pussies" in an Instagram live video.

Lovren posted a picture of the elbowing incident with the captain: 'Good Morning Croatia.'

"Elbowed him good," Lovren said making an elbow gesture on the live video. "Haha! 3-2! Go ahead and talk now buddy. Buddy! They are a bunch of pussies."

"Only this side is worthy," he added while pointing to the Croatia badge. "Only this side is worthy. Now to beat England and walk out like a boss!"

And it doesn't end there, Ramos liked a picture of Lovren crying on Instagram yesterday, while he is holding the Champions League trophy.

Meanwhile, Croatia take on England today at Wembley in a crucial Nations League fixture.

The winner will earn promotion to next summer's finals, while the loser with relegated to Group B.

A score draw at the national stadium will also send England through to the finals and a scoreless match will see them relegated to the lower group.

Gareth Southgate's men are 5/6 to win the game, while the visitors are 10/3. A draw can be backed 3/1.
