You've studied the form, you've looked at the trainer-jockey partnership and you've checked the going, but when it comes to the Grand National, 'Lady Luck' is one rider you never want to overlook.

When it comes to your Grand National horse, liking the colours or finding some deep meaning in a name has been the tried and tested method since racing began, but today that changes. This year Racing Post are offering the chance to pick your Grand National horse via your favourite football team.

The Racing Post team have tirelessly analysed similarities and traits of the 92 clubs from the top four English leagues and the Scottish Premiership, matched them with all the runners and riders of this year's Grand National runners - allowing you to follow the horse that best suits the football team you follow and providing a perfect sporting synergy.

Some notable examples include:

Tottenham Hotspur-Minello Rocco: A classy performer on the day but questionable stamina may undermind top four credentials

Man City-Tiger Roll: Full of class, wealthy owners and a talented man at the helm, anything but first will be disappointing

Watford-Valtor: Frequently changing the man in the saddle, he won't trouble the winners but should get round. A safe mid table finish beckons

Ipswich Town-SingleFarmPayment: Given the Tractor Boys can't buy a win at the moment...

Gethin Evans from Racing Post said: "For too long, names and colours have inspired the nation' method of picking horses and we wanted to freshen up the selection process. We're giving you the opportunity to take your attachment to a football club, attach it to a horse and create a deeper connection with your Grand National ride. So whether you're a City fan looking for a top spot, a Spurs fan just looking for a top four finish or Fulham fan at the back of the field, there's a horse for you."
