2:20: York - Main Desire and Kentish Waltz Each Way.

Daughter of High Chaparral who quickened up in taking fashion to score very easily at Nottingham. She should have improved massively for that experience and if handling the ground, she should go well.

French filly Kentish Waltz caused a bit of a shock when scoring at Chantilly. She should handle the ground and looks an each way play.

2:55: York - On Her Toes and Tomyris Each Way.

On Her Toes has won on soft and had a busy campaign last time. This is her first start of the season but she should be fit enough to do herself justice.

Tomyris won well last time over seven furlongs at Newmarket and whilst the ground is a slight worry, she should go well.

3:30: York - Dartmouth NAP and Simple Verse Each Way.

Her Majesty The Queen's Dartmouth is a very smart performer who finished the season with a fine second in the G1 Canadian International at Woodbine.

He doesn't mind soft ground and he looks the one to side with. Simple Verse is a seriously talented filly who finished a creditable third in the Long Distance Cup at Ascot on QIPCO Champions Day in October.

She shouldn't mind the ground and looks to be improving as she improves.

4:05: York - Gibbs Hill and Lord Yeats Each Way.

Roger Varian's charge was impressive when landing a handicap at Wolverhampton in April. He quickened up nicely that day and the slight drop back in distance should not inconvenience him.

A winner on soft ground in July, he looks open to any amount of improvement. Lord Yeats ran with credit last year and Jedd O'Keeffe has his horses in fine fettle.

Unplaced on his last start at Newmarket last term, he had previously looked progressive and is given another chance here for a trainer who has had a very good week on the Knavesmire.

4:35: York - Lil Sophella.

Won this race last year off a 2lb higher mark and she will handle the ground. Danny Tudhope has been booked to ride and in an open race, she looks worth chancing in a tough event.

5:05: York - Comprise and Twizzell Each Way.

Michael Bell's Comprise has form over further and whilst he has to show he can handle softer conditions underfoot, he is likely improver.

Twizzell got the job done nicely at Beverley last time and finished fourth in a Listed event at this track as a two-year-old. He remains open to improvement.

5:40: York - Alqamar and Bedouin Each Way.

Charlie Appleby's Alqamar should see out this trip and ran well in three handicaps last term.

Bedouin is trained by a master at handling stayers and this son of High Chaparral seemed to handle soft conditions underfoot last term.
