Day two of the William Hill St Leger Festival proved a puzzle for punters to solve with a couple of surprise winners of the big races. Day three is another cracking card and here are our thoughts on Town Moor and the rest of the racing from Chester, Listowel, Salisbury and Sandown.

NAP

4:45 - Chester - Jabbaar 5/4

Chester Races
Chester Races

Has an impressive record at Chester, having never finished outside of the first three on the Roodee and he kept on nicely to score here In May. He has held his form brilliantly since and ran a mighty race off 88 at Hamilton when second last time. He's off a career high mark of 90 here, but that might not stop him.

Next Best

4:05 - Doncaster - Sangarius 8/11

One of the most exciting horses in training for some people following his striking debut success at Newmarket. The son of Kingman ran on strongly to score on that occasion and he could potentially be a little bit better than his rivals.

Other fancies

2:00 - Chester - Indomitable 8/15

Two solid efforts in defeat, including in the red-hot Convivial Maiden at York last time out makes him the one to beat.

3:40 - Chester - The Feathered Nest E/W 11/4

Won over course distance off a 3lb lower mark in May and following a disappointing effort at York last time, connections have given her plenty of time to recover. She makes appeal in an open event.

2:25 - Doncaster - Rumbleinthejungle 13/8

Hard not to be impressed by his victory in the Molecomb, where he quickened up in stylish fashion to score decisively. He looks a horse who is only going to get better with every run and he can go one better than his sir Bungle inthejungle who was second in this in 2012 with victory here.

3:00 - Doncaster - Titus E/W 8/1 & Just In Time E/W 9/1

The Jim Goldie-trained Titus produced a deeply impressive performance when scoring at York's Ebor Festival and despite an 11lb rise in the weight, he has to be of interest following that win. Alan King's Just in Time is definitely a horse still on the up and he was a sensational winner at Goodwood last time. This is another step up but he could finally be ready for this sort of level and conditions will suit.

Doncaster Races
Doncaster Races

5:30 - Sandown - The Last Emperor 5/4

Two good seconds on last two outings at Nottingham and Sandown recently and this could finally be a real opportunity to get his head in front.

5:40 - Salisbury - Feel Glorious 11/8

A surprise 125/1 winner at Goodwood last time out but the form has taken a real boost since with a number of horses in behind winning and you have to feel that there is more to come from the two-year-old daughter of Bated Breath now tackling a nursery.

7:10 - Salisbury - Foxtrot Lady 6/4

Talented filly who has run some fine races this year. Started favourite for the Stewards' Cup when finishing sixth and was a good second in Listed company last time. This is treaty bur she makes appeal.
