Could it all be a Cloudy Dream?

Ayr plays hosts to one of the most famous races in Britain's racing calendar, the Ayr Scottish Grand National on Saturday and we have race-by-race picks for a very decent card which of course sees the iconic race take centre stage.

Here are Danny Archer's selections...

1:40: Ayr - Delusionofgrandeur 8/1 Each Way and I Just Know 16/1 Each Way.

Delusionofgrandeur stays longer than the mother-in-law and this track whilst not the stiffest, should give him a good enough test of stamina. He's won his last two starts pretty easily in novice company and whilst this is a step up in class he is a super jumper.

I Just Know is much better than he showed at Aintree. He never travelled with any real zest there and this is probably a race where he could get the lead and really test his rivals.

2:10: Ayr - Cloudy Dream 9/4.

I just cannot discard Malcolm Jefferson's charge who after two superb runs to finish second in the Arkle at Cheltenham and the Manifesto at Aintree, this might be his time to finally get his head in front.

2:45: Ayr - Tommy Silver 12/1 Each Way and Ozzie The Oscar 12/1 Each Way.

Tommy Silver stayed on well to win at Plumpton on Sunday and has a chance at the prices. Ozzie The Oscar was third in the County Hurdle and could go close here.

3:20: Ayr - Double W's 5/1 Each Way (1/4) and Mixboy 9/1 Each Way.

I was at Aintree when Double W's won and I was quite impressed with how he knuckled down to get the job done that day. He has won at the track and looks progressive. Mixboy had looked a horse to follow when winning his first three starts over fences impressively and despite being pulled up at Cheltenham Festival, he has a great effort here.

3:55: Ayr - Vicente 12/1 Each Way, Southfield Royale 11/1 Each Way and Vintage Clouds 16/1 Each Way.

Vicente won this race last year and off the same mark he has an outstanding chance. Fell at the first in the Grand National and this is his ground.

I was a big fan of Southfield Royale for the Kim Muir but he fell in that contest and he is a horse who will really enjoy this stamina test. A very decent novice chaser, this season has arguably not gone to plan but he is better than he has showed and this step up in trip could bring about the required improvement.

I'm also a big fan of Vintage Clouds who looks sure to be suited by this stamina test. Running a decent race when falling at the Cheltenham Festival last time and he looks interesting at a decent each way price.

4:30: Ayr - Whatduhavtoget 3/1.

Very impressive when winning at Ludlow last time and remains one with potential.

5:05: Ayr - Touch Kick 4/1.

I was impressed with Paul Nicholls' charge who I gave last time and he put that race to bed nicely last time. Has a decent conditional on board as well here.

5:40: Ayr - Pym 3/1.

Nicky Henderson has a decent record in this race having won four of the last seven renewals of this event and that makes him my pick in the lucky last.
