ICC Champions Trophy 2017: Sri Lanka v Pakistan Betting Preview

This looks set to be a cracker!

With India through, there remains one final place from Group B in the tournament's semi-final.

Both sides come off the back of what the world perceived as shock victories, but each side will be confident of their chances heading into the final group stage match at the Swalec Stadium, Cardiff.

The men in green tormented South Africa with the ball, with Swansea born Imad Wasim and youngster Hasan Ali providing the goods as they restricted the mighty Proteas to just 216 runs in 50 overs.

There were concerns that Wahab Riaz's injury would have hampered Pakistan's chances, but the 23 year old Hasan Ali stepped up magnificently against South Africa and we would fancy him to be Pakistan's Top Bowler at 3/1 with Betway against Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka staggered us all after cruising to a seven wicket victory over India, chasing 321 well within the allotted 50 overs. Captain Angelo Mathews return to the side was huge for his side as he struck 52 not out chasing India's total, but it was Kusal Mendis who mustered up a match winning 89 before being run out.

There's a lot of options if you were to choose a top scorer for the Sri Lankans, but on significant matches alone, we are going to back Angelo Mathews to win that award. Dare we suggest it, it might be a good shout backing him for a century. Back Matthews to be Sri Lanka's Top Batsman at 4/1 with Betway.

It's been a poor outing for the Sri Lankan bowlers so far this tournament, who have only managed to pick up a total of 12 wickets in their two matches.

Their top wicket taker so far is pace powler Nuwan Pradeep who has picked up three wickets so far, notably dismissing Virat Kohli for a duck last time out. Lasith Malinga is always exciting to watch, too. We would have a punt on the experience of 'Slinger Malinga' this time around at 3/1 to be Sri Lanka's Top Bowler with Betway. We'd also recommend taking the slightly safer 11/10 with Betway on the Slinger picking up Over 1.5 Wickets.

Then there is Pakistan's batting; the inconsistency and slow approach to building an innings. Opener Azhar Ali is a sublime test match batsman, but for what he possesses in technique and batting class, he lacks in the ability to constantly rotate the strike and keep the tallying up the runs.

Babar Azam is a brilliant ODI batsman and a well-thought-out choice for top run scorer in the Pakistan side. Disclaimer: I can't stress enough how patchy the Pakistani batting line up is and how honestly, they could be knocked off for less than 150. Back Azam to be Pakistan's Top Batsman at 3/1 with Betway, as well as taking the 5/6 with Betway on Ali scoring Under 30.5 Runs.

As a contest, I fancy the Sri Lankans at 21/20 with Betway. After their batting display against India, I would back them batting first or second. If just a couple of their top seven settle, it could be a long day for Pakistan. Micky Arthur's Pakistan side just lack a little with the willow and though they look as good as any of the rest with the ball, this Sri Lanka side should just be too much for them.
