Frank Lampard could be the next man in the Oxford United hotseat, according to Ladbrokes.

The bookies have slashed odds of the Chelsea legend taking over at the Kassam Stadium from 10/1 to just 3/1, making him third-favourite for the job.

Former Leeds United assistant Pep Clotet is the 4/7 favourite, with Jimmy Floyd-Hasselbaink next best at 5/2, and Chris Powell a dark horse at 8/1.

Ladbrokes News' Dave Burin said: "We're not ruling out Lamps' arrival in League One next season, with the England legend now just 3/1 to take the reins at Oxford."

"However, right now it's Clotet who's favourite to be giving the Pep talks for the U's come opening day."
