Our man Danny Archer has been in fine fettle all week at Doncaster and today sees the final day of the meeting and the St Leger take place.

Danny Archer

We have had a superb William Hill St Leger Festival as we landed winners at 7/2, 7/2 and 5/1 on Wednesday, 7/2 and an Even money NAP on Friday and 11/4 and 5/2 on Saturday; top form.

Today's card at Town Moor sees Group action take centre stage courtesy of the G3 Sceptre, G2 Flying Childers Stakes and G2 Doncaster Cup. Here are Danny Archer's race-by-race selections for day three of the meeting on Town Moor.

I'll be placing my bets with Ladbrokes today to take advantage of their bet £5 and get £20 in free bets. The Magic Sign will also double your winnings in the 1.50 if your selections wins by 3 lengths or more. Full terms

1:50: Doncaster: Stake Acclaim 10/1 Each Way, Evergate 14/1 Each Way and Compas Scoobie 14/1 Each Way.

Dean Ivory's Stake Acclaim landed the Shergar Cup Dash at Ascot in August and ran a fine race at Windsor last time. Off a career high-mark but looks to be in the form of his life. Evergate has run well of late and has a light weight here following a fine third at York last time. Compas Scoobie could also run well in this having landed successive victories at Newmarket and Bath and was unsuited by the track at Epsom last time.

2:25: Doncaster: Aclaim 5/2 and Spirit Of Valor 10/1 Each Way.

Decent renewal of the G2 Park Stakes and Martyn Meade's Aclaim was a fine second in the G1 Prix Maurice de Gheest and that looks strong form. He will enjoy the ground and the return to seven furlong looks decent. Aidan O'Brien's Spirit Of Valor was second in the G3 Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot before following up in the G2 Minstrel Stakes. He was well beaten in the G2 Lennox Stakes last time but he is worth another chance here.

3:00: Doncaster: Red Mist 4/1.

Won on debut at Sandown and was very unlucky to not reel in the winner at Newbury last time. He can reverse the form with Hey Gaman today and should go well.

3:35: Doncaster: Crystal Ocean 5/1 £20 Returns £120 with Ladbrokes and Defoe 13/2 Each Way.

This is a superb renewal of the St Leger with most of the runners holding a live chance. Crystal Ocean is a son of Sea The Stars and whilst he has to prove his stamina over the extended 14 furlong trip, he has looked an exciting colt this term. A decisive winner of a maiden at Nottingham in April, he finished a staying on third in the G2 Dante Stakes at York in May before just struggling to close when only third in the G2 King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot. However, the three-year-old finally got his head in front last time when impressively landing the G3 Gordon Stakes at Goodwood. That was a really impressive performance as he quickened up nicely under Ryan Moore that day to beat a decent field. The fact he handled soft conditions that day is a bonus and I think he has a real touch of class about him and has improved with every run this season.

Roger Varian's Defoe looks a sound each way player based on his impressive form so far this season. Winner of his last four start, the three-year-old son of Dalakhani showed his liking for staying trips when keeping on resolutely at Newbury last time to land the G3 Geoffrey Freer Stakes. Connections won this event in 2014 with Kingston Hill and he hasn't stopped improving. Ground conditions will suit and he will keep on finding if the stamina gets too much for some of the others in this cracking edition of the final Classic of the season.

4:10: Doncaster: Westerland 9/4.

Westerland probably hasn't gone on to be quite as good as expected at two-years-old but he has still run with credit recently. This is his first try over a mile but he finished second to a decent sort at Chelmsford last time on the All Weather at Chelmsford and he may be more at home on this surface.

4:45: Doncaster: Battered 11/4 and Sinfonietta 5/1 Each Way.

William Haggas' Battered has been in fine form this season and was a narrow second at York last time. This ground holds no feats and there looks to be slightly more improvement to come off his current mark.

David Menuisier is a trainer to watch and Sinfonietta has the services of talented 5lb claimer Finley Marsh today. Third at the Curragh last time, he will also no qualms with the ground.

5:55: Doncaster: Game Starter 11/10 Doncaster NAP £20 Returns £42 with Ladbrokes.

Unbeaten this year following two decent performances, one of which was a facile four and a half-length success over some decent handicappers at Newmarket in August. He should handle a 10lb rise and looks a rapidly improving horse.
