Barely three months after turning down a reported £15million for his services, Watford have sacked coach Marco Silva.

Having dismissed the 'new Mauricio Pochettino', the Hornets could be set to swoop for the old Poch - in the Tottenham manager's role model, Marcelo Bielsa.

The maverick Argentine is out of work after a brief, ill-fated reign at French side Lille, and tops the betting with Paddy Power to replace Silva (4/1).

Also in contention, according to the bookmakers, is Shakhtar Donetsk boss Paulo Fonseca (6/1), former Sevilla chief Eduardo Berizzo (8/1), and German coach Roger Schmidt (10/1).

Spokesman Paddy Power said: "There's no Silva lining for Watford after Everton's interest in their manager, and the Hornets showed a sting in the tail by dismissing the coach after yet another defeat yesterday.

"The sacking of Marco Silva seems pretty mad by the Watford board, which leads me to think they could be in for Marcelo Bielsa - known as 'The Mad One' for his obsessive approach to the game."
