Kevin Durant became the NBA Championship finals MVP as he helped his team recover from their heartbreak of a year ago to regain the title and then shared a wonderful moment with his mum.
One year ago the Golden State Warriors led the NBA Championship final 3-1 against the Cleveland Cavaliers as they looked to defend the title they'd won in 2015.
However led by LeBron James the Cavs were able to stage one of the best comeback in NBA history as they stole the title with a 4-3 series win.

Golden State strengthened by bringing Kevin Durant from Oklahoma City on a whopping $54.3 million contract as they looked to regain the title.
Once again Golden State and the Cavs met in the final and once again GSW led the series 3-1. But last night they were able to hold on to their lead and win the title.

It was a 129-120 win in game five of the series at home that gave the Warriors their second title in three seasons as the epic rivalry with the Cavs took yet another level.
Durant, who was criticised when he decided to make the move last year, posted some extremely impressive numbers throughout the finals and was a worthy winner of his award:
