A 73 Minute Frame Of Snooker At The Welsh Open Is The Most Bizarre Ever

Well you don't see this everyday...

Mark Williams and Aditya Mehta were involved in one of the strangest frames of Snooker in recent memory during a second round tie at the Welsh Open on Wednesday night.

Here's some context. In the third frame of their match at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff, a bunch of red balls eventually congregated around the black ball.

The black was hanging over the lower right pocket and it was basically damn-near impossible to get out, but Williams was not giving up - despite being 91-21 behind in the leg.

A tactical battle played out between the pair and avid Snooker fans couldn't believe their luck. It was a memorable tussle that is quite bizarre to watch.

The guys over at Eurosport saved us over an hour of our lives by speeding up the play. Cheers lads.

As you can see in the above footage, Williams eventually played a risky shot and potted the black ball after what seemed like an eternity of mind games.

Pointless legend Richard Osman described it as 'the maddest frame of snooker ever' as plenty of others discussed what will go down as one of the longest frames of all time.

73 minutes may be an extremely long frame when it comes to Snooker, but a 2017 World Championship qualifier between Fergal O'Brien and David Gilbert lasted an incredible two hours, three minutes and 41 seconds.

Keep trying, lads.
